Barr-Nunn Participates in the Iowa State Fair Parade again in 2009

Granger, IA - August 13, 2009 - Barr-Nunn Transportation, a leader in the industry, is proud to have been a part of the Iowa State Fair, known as America's classic state fair, and its parade again in 2009.

This year's theme was "State Fair Time" and festivities kicked off on August 13th. The parade started everything off with a bang the day before, and Barr-Nunn did its part to show its national pride.

The Barr-Nunn tractor/trailer participating in the parade was a brand new 2010 International Prostar pulling Barr-Nunn's "America Supports You" trailer which pays respect to all the men and women serving in the armed forces. It was driven by Barr-Nunn dispatcher Mike Owens, who has been with the company since 1992.

The fair has had a past daily attendance of as much as almost 104,000 people and features endless entertainment in the form of concerts, races, and other activities. Approximately 200 floats, animals, vehicles, novelty and performing units participated in this year's parade, the largest in Iowa.

America Supports You is an ongoing, nationwide program organized by the Department of Defense to showcase Americans' support for the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. Since its launch in November of 2004, the America Supports You program has welcomed over 275 home front organizations and more than 35 corporations to the team. The America Supports You team supports the troops through letter writing, care packages, helping the wounded when they return home, assisting military families, sending an email or kind gesture.
